Inspecting cookies

You can run a regular search on your computer files for the term "cookie" or "cookies". This should return most cookie files and folders.

To find all of them in IE5 you need to search for "*default@*" too. Internet Explorer has a habit of sticking them in hard to find places.

If you want to look for them manually, on a Windows PC you should find most Internet Explorer cookies in the folder C:\WINDOWS\Cookies, in C:WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files, and possibly in C:WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5.

Netscape cookies should be in C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\(your username or "not").

Netscape 6 is wonderful when it comes to inspecting cookies. Just go into Tasks > Privacy and Security > Cookie Manager > View Stored Cookies.
